The grade II* 17th century, traditional black & white Friends Meeting House at Almeley Wootton is beautiful yet impractical for regular use by groups. In need of full disabled access & toilet as well as a safe kitchen and larger communal space, it was decided to build an eco-friendly, sympathetic extension.

Plans were drawn and the local community consulted. With a good response from local community & Quaker groups, permissions were obtained from both planners and heritage authorities. With the architects’ estimated target of £230,000 ahead of us, we began the fundraising effort.  We are pleased to report that our fundraising was a success and the Roger Prichard Room extension is now built and in use by both Quakers and the local community.
